Earn money by testing iPhone apps and create a buzz for your own apps

A French website (AppVIP) offers to test new apps and earn some money. If you’re a developer or publisher of applications for iPhone, this site helps to promote your product, and obtain the opinion of many users. Promote an application is difficult because many applications already exist on the appstore. Create a buzz is very important and you must be present in the “tops” of the appstore. I guess this site can help you. Here is the link to this new service.

Your keys are inside your iPhone

A french start-up, called Openways, has created an application to open doors with an iPhone.

By example an hotel can send an invitation to a customer, this customer can use an application with an unique encrypted sound to open the door of his room. Or you can invite your plumber or the babysitter to open your door when you decide it.

This application will be available for iPhone and other smartphones soon. This company announced recently tests with several Holiday Inn Hotels.

I believe in this type of application. I hope smartphones will someday combine encrypted sounds with RFID technology.

Choose your menu with the iPad

A new way to choose your menu in the restaurant is now available at Lille (France) or at Sidney (Australia). Forget the traditional paper menu, and imagine an application on the iPad. You can view the menus, the suggestions, and maybe later : your favorites, make your order, write your opinion or choose your music, and why not check in with Foursquare ? I can have a lot of ideas for this application and i’m sure you too ! ;-)

PhoneBook : The iPhone Ties Parent and Child Together

It’s the hybrid book which combined iPhone and an ordinary book. You can enjoy interactive actions there, by touching the screen or tipping the book as you read it.

I’m a father of 2 little girls (2 and 4 years old). I was surprised by Alice on the iPad, now i’m really pleased to discover PhoneBook. Really great idea from Japan (2980 yens on Amazon -> 25 euros).

Home automation solutions on your iOS device

Today with new technologies we can have a house or an apartment with complete automation system.

Some examples that we already know :

  • Water management : opening the tap when you approach your hands
  • Opening and closing shutters
  • Turn heating to the good temperature
  • Intercom, digicodes.

There are many other applications we can imagine for our future green houses :

  • Lights can turn off when nobody is in a room
  • Heating can go off when you open a windows

Now imagine an application to control all automatic things in your house : lights, heating, air conditioning, windows, shutters, TV, hi-fi system, computers etc … with Wifi or 3G connection !

Unfortunately i can’t test but i can easily imagine the house of my dreams. This is a real investment to save money and energy and improve our daily life.
